16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
2 Timothy tells us all scripture is given by
Inspiration of God= “breathed into by God” in such a sense that the writers were supernaturally guided to express exactly what God intended them to express as a revelation of his mind and will. Dictionary.com
And is profitable= beneficial or useful, advantageous, valuable, helpful.
For doctrine= something that is taught; teachings collectively: religious doctrine.
For reproof= the act of reproving, censuring, or rebuking.
For correction= punishment intended to reform, improve, or rehabilitate; chastisement; reproof.
For instruction= the act or practice of instructing or teaching; education
In righteousness= the quality or state of being righteous, righteous conduct.
God wants us to stop living our lives as if He doesn’t exist. We need to stop living as if He hasn’t given us the perfect law, as if He hasn’t given us scriptures to govern our lives.
The Lord Jesus has said “I’m coming back”!!! it’s time we get our house in order!
