Live Holy Lives in Christ Jesus

It is often said…nobody is perfect, we are only human, we all far short of the Glory of God as stated in (Romans 3:23) and let’s not forget, God knows my heart… while this is true, the question is why? Why aren’t we perfect? Why don’t we walk/live our lives like Jesus did? I mean we were given the perfect example, by a perfect man that lived a perfect life as a human. Though Jesus Christ is God, He did not come to live His life as God. He lived a perfect human life to give us an example on how we are to live our lives. We see this in Philippians 2:5-11KJV 5 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: 6 Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: 7 But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: 8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. 9 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: 10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; 11 And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. Another scripture where we can see Jesus Christ living as a perfect human without committing any sin is in Hebrews 4:15KJV 15 For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. So why don’t we live perfect/holy lives? Is it because we are too busy giving excuses on how hard life is and how nobody is perfect, and how we are only human and how we all fall short of the glory of God to keep us in a state of slothfulness, to excuse our bad behavior, and have us think and believe we can slide by on hyper-grace (it’s all nailed to the cross). 1 Peter 1:16 KJV tells us- Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy. Let us look at what our Lord and Savior commanded us to do which is to (be holy) the definition of holy according to Merriam Dictionary is- exalted or worthy of complete devotion as one perfect in goodness and righteousness. The word Perfect is used in the definition of holy, the word perfect is also a synonym which is having the same or nearly the same meaning as the word Holy. So why would God command us to be holy/perfect if it was impossible to be holy/perfect? It is time to stop taking God’s word out of context and using it as a license to sin. God has given us all free will to choose to live holy lives which is not a heavy burden but many of us want to live our lives in error, sin, complete abandonment of God’s laws and decrees all while chanting nobody is perfect, we are only human, we all far short of the Glory of God and God knows my heart which is a remixed perversion of God’s word that will land many in the lake of fire! We all mess up sometimes and fall short in our efforts to walk righteously but, we must not give up, we must stop excusing bad/unrighteous behavior, we need to stop twisting God’s word, love, mercy and grace and using it as a license to sin for it is written in Hebrews 10:26-27KJV. 26 For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins, 27 But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries. This scripture reveals that if we continue to deliberately sin there is no more sacrifice for those deliberate sins. Let us look at how the Word of God describe sin. 2Timothy 3:1-5 KJV describes sin as- This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. Revelation 21:8KJV describes sin as 8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death. Galatians 5:19-21KJV describes sin as 19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, 20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, 21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God. These scriptures address just a few sinful things and lifestyles we find ourselves in, if your pet sin is not listed on this post, search the scriptures and you will see that it too has been addressed, now let us take another look at what Hebrews 10:26-27 says about deliberately sinning after receiving the knowledge of truth which can come only from the Word of God. If you deliberately continue on in your sins after hearing/reading/ and checking for yourself in the word of God that you are indeed living in sin, then you have chosen to refuse to accept the Living Word as Truth. You refuse to use and allow the Word of God to correct, reproof, build you up, break strong holds and put you in right standing before God. If that wasn’t enough you also refuse Christ’s sacrifice, what that means is you have chosen to dismiss, spit on and trample under your foot the sacrifice made for you to redeem you from your sins so that you can live a holy life for Him on this earth before man and then go on to live eternity in Heaven with Him and the Father. If you refuse to acknowledge your sinfulness you will not truly repent, you will not turn from and change your wicked ways, as there can be no true repentance without the acknowledgement of sin, so you end up rejecting the word of God as not having any authority in your life, and when you do this, you will be held accountable for your own sins!!! It will not be nailed to the cross! You will be judged! and you will pay in full for your own sins since the sacrifice of Christ was not good enough for you. Please repent!!! You’re going to surrender one way or another either to The One True and Living God or you are going to surrender to this world and the god of this fallen world. Turn from your sins while you still have breath, fully surrender to Christ. Give your life, mind, body, soul, and family to (Jesus Christ, God the Son) who came from on high to live a perfect human life, demonstrating to us how we too can walk/live a holy/perfect life in Christ. 2 Corinthians 13:5KJV 5 Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?
